Gustavo Garcia

Senior Software Engineer

Gustavo Garcia

¡Hola! I'm Gustavo, a Chilean software engineer currently living in the UK. My friends call me "Tavo".

As an enthusiast in digital product development, I enjoy going from ideation to production by creating architecture diagrams, planning, and writing the actual code.

My current areas of interest include Ruby, Ruby on Rails, Jamstack, and Hotwire, which I find particularly exciting.

[2021 - Present]

I am currently employed at Gocertify as a “hands-on CTO,” where my responsibilities include enhancing the scalability, cleanliness, and security of the service.

Gocertify offers e-commerce websites instant and privacy-focused group verification, enabling them to provide exclusive discounts to key workers, students, seniors, military personnel, and other groups.

Founder @
[2017 - Present]

In 2017, I embarked on a personal project with the goal of gaining knowledge about the complete life cycle of a digital product.

This involved taking responsibility for design, development, deployment, marketing, support, and sales.

The experience has been incredibly rewarding, particularly in terms of how it has enabled editorial teams to gain valuable insights into the performance of their content.

I am excited to continue on this journey and look forward to what lies ahead.

[2012 - 2021]

As a key member of the ArchDaily team, I had the privilege of building the Development team from scratch.

Together with the Product team, we collaborated closely to create a robust foundation and develop numerous Ruby on Rails applications and mini-apps that are currently hosted on AWS EKS.

These applications effectively manage over 14 million monthly visitors to the website.
